An army dispatch rider discovers a woman and her young son living on a ranch in Apache country.  Knowing that war is coming he becomes their protector.  One of John Wayne’s better westerns and one his personal favorites.  Also starring Geraldine Page, Ward Bond, Michael Pate, and James Arness.  Directed by John Farrow.
