A Roman soldier, ordered to crucify Christ, is tormented by his actions and seeks the robe he thinks will remove what he sees as a curse.  He returns to Judea to learn more about the man he executed.  Winner of two Oscars and nominated for three others including Best Picture.  Stars Richard Burton, Jean Simmons, Victor Mature, Michael Rennie, Jay Robinson and Dean Jagger.  Directed by Henry Koster.
