When a former boxer is murdered by hit men, an insurance investigator begins connecting the dots to a robbery that occurred years earlier. As he digs deeper into the boxer’s past, he uncovers a tale of betrayal and treachery leading back to a beautiful femme-fatale. This excellent film noir is notable as Burt Lancaster’s debut film and as the film that made Eva Gardner a star. Based on a short story by Ernest Hemingway.
