A group of twelve soldiers sentenced to death or long sentences are recruited for a dangerous mission by a rebellious major. The group undergoes rigorous training to parachute behind enemy lines and attack a French chateau used by Nazi officers for rest and recreation. The unlikely comrades set aside their personal differences and work together to accomplish the impossible. The Dirty Dozen is an enjoyable film that is not your typical war film and paved the way for many later other violent and unlikely hero films. Starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, John Cassavetes, Jim Brown, Richard Jaeckel, George Kennedy, Donald Sutherland, Robert Ryan, Telly Savalas and Clint Walker. Directed by Robert Aldrich.
