A career criminal becomes caught in a web of crime and betrayal. Arrested for robbery and facing a long sentence, he is offered the opportunity to testify against the other thieves. His lawyer promises him that if he keeps quiet, his family will be taken care of, and he will soon be paroled. Several years into his sentence, he learns that his wife has committed suicide.
