Frankenstein (1931)

Dr. Henry Frankenstein tampers with the secrets of life and death and creates a creature from body parts.  Something goes terribly wrong when he uses the brain of a deceased criminal and the resulting monster becomes a danger to Frankenstein and everyone in the nearby village.  Loosely based on Mary Shelly’s classic novel this film created one of Hollywood’s most enduring movie monsters.  Stars Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, Boris Karloff, John Boles, Dwight Frye and Lionel Barrymore.  Directed by James Whale.
