A British officer resigns his commission on the eve of his unit shipping out for war in the Sudan. Branded a coward by his colleagues and fiancée, he sets out to redeem his honor. Based on the novel by A.E.W. Mason, the Four Feathers is often overlooked due to the many great films made in 1939. This is easily the best adaptation of a story brought to the screen at least five times from the silent era to the present. Stars John Clements, Ralph Richardson, C. Aubrey Smith and Jane Duprez. Directed by Zoltan Korda.
