THE FRENCH CONNECTION (1971)

Two New York detectives try to dismantle a drug smuggling ring operated by a French industrialist. Their pursuit of the drug ring leads to a game of cat and mouse, thrilling car chases, shootouts and tense confrontations. The French Connection was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won five, including Best Picture (Gene Hackman), Best Director (William Friedkin) and Best Picture. Starring Gene Hackman, Roy Scheider, Fernando Rey, and Tony Lo Bianco. Directed by William Friedkin.
