Jane is a young nurse who agrees to an experiment in hypnosis. While hypnotized, she recounts a strange story about her past. She was once married but her husband disappeared on their wedding night. After years of searching, she arrived at an old plantation in the Louisiana swamps. There, she discovered that an experiment was transforming patients into human-alligator hybrids. The Alligator People is a fun example of 1950s monsters science fiction where the monsters are us or are created by our mistakes – in this case both. Starring Beverly Garland, Bruce Bennett, Lon Chaney, Jr., and George Macready. Directed by Roy Del Ruth.
